Day at the beach

OMG, we actually did it, we moved to Spain. Honestly, I still cannot believe that we are really here. Today was a beautiful and sunny day, so we decided to travel to the beach for the first time.

I already feel so blessed with the many possibilities of this beautiful city/region of Spain. When I leave our apartment, I walk into a park. On the left, I see beautiful green-colored mountains. On the right, I see the city center with its lovely old-painted buildings. And today, we are going to see the beach. This city has it all, it is incredible! The beach is called: 'Playa de La Arena' and driving there took us somewhere about 25 minutes. During the whole ride, I felt excited and amazed.

I wonder, have you ever felt such a feeling while you are driving to a new or known place, and that the closer you get, the more excited you become? Imagine, slowly, you see the buildings disappear, the 'normal' trees make way for palm trees, and you see the beautiful colors of the flowers along the road. Besides, in the distance, you look out on a mountain range with snow, which is not quite part of the perfect beach picture. But shows the uniqueness of this city. And then, finally, you see the beach! Yeezy. For me, as a Dutch person who always lived in the middle of the country, only seeing a beach is almost excited enough haha!

We drive into the parking lot, and everywhere, left and right I see surfers changing and preparing to catch the ultimate waves. I LOVE it! We look for a place to park the car, and then we walk towards the beach. I feel as happy as a kid!

Adventurously we are walking above the rocks, where at the end, we arrive at a beautiful and quiet view over the sea. This is amazing. We look to the light where the sky meets the sea, we listen to the waves crashing on the rocks, we smell the salty air, and we feel the wind playing with our hair.

We finish with a drink at a bar and drive back home. Despite the sun and the Spanish temperature, it is still too cold for us to enter the water, but we will be back soon! What a lovely day!
