Start of something new
Here I go, together with my dearest family in the car to the south of the Netherlands. More specifically, to Limburg, where my friend 'Robbin' and his family are patiently waiting for us. Our new adventure is about to begin. I am so excited, but it is frightening as well. Hitting two birds with one stone, we're going to live together and...
WE'RE MOVING TO SPAIN
Including many tears, laughter, 'singing in the car' moments, and goodbye hugs, Robbin and I are starting our long journey towards Bilbao. With some toilet breaks along the way and an overnight stay in Bordeaux, we arrive at our apartment around 1:00 PM the next day we left. Charo, our real estate agent and our landlord Amaia opened us with open arms. They again gave us a small tour through the apartment, and they explained all the stuff we needed to know.
Pff, a lot is going through my mind right now. While we are unpacking all of our stuff, I feel more emotions at once than I have ever felt before. I feel joyful, sad, and excited. Besides, I feel loved by our families and friends, and I am feeling a lot of energy to start furnishing our apartment and to explore the city.
Before our departure, we received a bag full of treats and surprises from my grandfather and grandmother. Just like the holidays from the past, a so-called 'travel package' for on the road. Especially in the evening, I could not be happier with this gift. Because of them, we could enjoy a delicious Dutch dinner: homemade pancakes with syrup and sugar yummy!
The first week since we arrived, Robbin is free from work. We take the entire week to furnish our apartment and to give it a personal character. As well as visiting Ikea and Mediamarkt for shopping, we also enjoyed ourselves in cafes and bars around the corner. Before we went to Spain, Robbin had bought a PlayStation 5. Therefore, for this first week of furnishing our apartment, it was not negotiable that we first had to go to the 'MediaMarkt' for a TV.
Besides the first necessitates, we also got this super functional shopping trolley. As 'Dutchies' we are used to a flat and elongated landscape. Here you walk downhill constantly. And believe me, with 10 liters of water and the rest of the groceries in your bag, shopping is not fun and games at all. So, therefore, a shopping trolly is needed!
For now, this is enough. Would you like to read specific topics in my blogs? Let me know in the comments!
